Q&A | Budget[BACK TO ALL QUESTIONS & ANSWERS]

We are having a destination wedding in Mauritius. Do we have to pay for our guest’s airfares and accommodation?

You are under no obligation to pay for your guests traveling costs. If they can’t afford to attend your faraway celebration, they will decline. But, before going ahead with the plans consider the following possibility- getting married and not having a certain guest that means the world to you, there on the day. That being the case, you might want to re-think your wedding plans and bring things a little closer to home.

If you are dead set on having a Island destination wedding, perhaps, rather than inviting 30 guests to join you in Mauritius, consider knocking the list down to between 5-10 which will free up enough of your budget to finance your close friends and family’s travel costs, this will guarantee that key people will attend.
