Belinda and Vernon WesselsWedding: 15 November 2008
Our Wedding Day
After 11 years of being married, we decided to renew our vows and to have the fairytale wedding we never had 11 years prior. For our 10th year anniversary we travelled through France for 3 weeks and I fell in love with France, the decor and architecture. When I found Morrells Boutique Venue, it was my little piece of France. We kept the number of guests to 40, only our immediate family and closest friends were invited.
The colour scheme was Ivory, Gold, Champaign and Wine Red. I chose deep, passionate colours that symbolised our love and life together.
The tables were named after the provinces we drove through in France.
All the invitations, menu’s, favors were handmade.
We decided to have the photos taken early in the morning to be able to take our time and to have the wedding less stressful. Our brilliant photographer chose New Town as the venue and used the graffiti as a backdrop in the photo‚Äôs. The results were amazing. From red walls, to graffiti of faces and even the skyline of JHB. I could not have asked for a more perfect day…
Advice to Future Brides
If there is one area you should never try save costs on, it’s the photographer. Once the wedding is over (and it does seem to happen so quickly on the day) you will always have your photographs to keep. Also consider having your photo’s taken earlier in the day, it takes the stress away after the ceremony and you are able to relax and enjoy your special day.
Also shop around and do go online and browse for idea’s. There is allot of helpful information on the internet. I managed to arrange my wedding in four months and it was absolutely perfect.
