Our Wedding Day

After a cold and rainy week, we woke up to the most beautiful day in the Winelands. We were surrounded by friends and family and when I walked down the aisle with my dad, it was both surreal and extremely special. We had written our own vows and had each other in tears. Frederick had organized a surprise for me and had the acapella group, Adamsappel, sing to us at the end of the ceremony. Needless to say, our guests had to pull out the tissues. After that our guests moved to the courtyard and enjoyed mojitos, pimms and lemonade and lots of oysters and canapés while we had some photos taken. Before we joined our guests, we took a moment to take everything in - absolutely worthwhile. After we opened the dance floor with Everything by Michael Buble, the party really got going. Our close friends and family had another surprise installed for us. They made a slideshow with photos of us (some gorgeous and some not so flattering!!) that started from when we were born until the day before the wedding. Our day was filled with love and laughter and we wouldn’t want to change a thing!

Advice to Future Brides

Remember what it is all about and celebrate love. The day goes so fast, so take five minutes during the reception with your new hubby and go somewhere quiet where you can take it all in.
