Gert and Stacie Swindon Wedding: 10 September 2010
Our Wedding Day
We had a very chilly wedding, but not even the weather could dampen our spirits. We had our ceremony and reception at Nauntons Guest House which is owned by Rose du Toit, she really made our day so special with a lot of added extra’s that she did. Our colour scheme was green, purple, and blue and the three colours together look exquisite. Our ceremony took place in the garden, and it was such a special service, which was done by my sister father in-law. The reception then followed in the marquee that we had, and in the middle of the marquee was this beautiful chandelier and all around it was these wicker hearts. I will always remember this day as we were able to share it with the people we love and we were especially blessed to have five of our friends from Australia come over to share in our day with us. It is such an amazing experience to be able to have all the people you love be able to witness such an amazing thing. My fairy tale had come to life and I was able to marry my prince charming, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing about our wedding.
Advice to Future Brides
If there is any advice I can give to Brides, it is don’t stress so much. There will always be people that love the wedding, people that have nothing nice to say and always criticize and those people that are just plane jealous. You just have to realise that this day is about you and your husband, and you can’t make everyone happy. So drink those shooter with your girlfriends, shake those hips on the dance floor and sing from the top of your lungs to that song that is blearing from the speakers, because it’s the one time in your life when it’s about you and your partner so enjoy it to the fullest, and at the end of the night you will realise that you are probably standing on the dance floor at 3:30am in the morning with your bestest of friends saying damb that was a good celebration.
