Our Wedding Day

Our wedding was set on the beautiful beach of Mauritius. Crystal blue water and a light breeze set the mood for the day. All ladies had hand held parasols and beaded barefoot shoes. The isle was set in a circle around the arch. After the ceremony a French Tradition was followed: after a celebration a bottle of campaign is opened by using a sword to butt the top off.

We walked down the beach with all our guests to the reception area. Sky lanterns were set off in the evening and bubbles were blown while we had our first dance. No shoes were allowed and the theme was casual.

The wedding gift for our guests was a trip on a Catamaran the next day and this was given to them at the wedding reception in a blue box with a passport inside inviting them to the cruise.

Advice to Future Brides

Savor every moment as the day goes by so fast. Don't wish it away,  take a quite step back every now and then and watch your party – let it sink in. Drag your husband away for 5 minutes and stand and watch quietly.
