Loanita and Carl Schultz Wedding: 27 February 2010
Our Wedding Day
From the moment I said: Yes I will marry you, we both knew that our wedding will be different but distinctive! We had a limited budget to work with but our dream was to go overseas for our honeymoon… so we decided not to have a reception and take the money to go live our dream. But this decision didn’t mean that our ceremony wouldn’t be memorable. The first chapel we looked at we decided to take because it was just perfect. Our theme happened from me finding a beautiful African handmade bird brooch – we loved it and from there the theme for our wedding took off – birds!! We got married at 4 o’clock in the afternoon on a sunny day. My mom did the flower arrangements, my sister was one of my bridesmaids, my one brother walked me in and my other brother married us – it was an incredible service and because we didn’t have the reception there was so much focus on the ceremony… it really was special! The chapel has a nice paved/grass area in front of it and we made use of it by mingling with the guests, taking photos, saying thank you! We also made a box of eats for each guest filled with the things we love. Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing!
Advice to Future Brides
Find, buy, get it made… but be sure that your wedding dress makes you feel absolutely beautiful. And when the wedding is planned and everything’s been ticked from the list, remember that this great day’s about him and you… not the decorations, the music or the food but the promise you are making to him.
