Carla and Dieter SchnetlerWedding: 10 October 2008
Our Wedding Day
Our theme was rustic with hearts...€ A lovely, intimate wedding venue that inspired our rustic theme.
The ceremony was held in the beautiful garden, I walked in on a pre-recorded organ piece by my dad, instead of playing the wedding march, he’d rather walk the ‚Ä'isle‚Ä' with me...€ After the inspiring message by our pastor, my brother sang ‚Ä'Answer‚Ä' by Sarah McLachlan.
The trio played Jesu Joy of my Desiring while we walked out as Mr. & Mrs. Schnetler...€ After signing the register & the guests having sparkling wine and Horse D’oevre’s while gazing out on the breath-taking view on Table Mountain, we were showered with flower petals filling the air.
We then traveled the lovely scenery on the farm for our photo session with our unbelievable photographer.
We entered the fairytale reception area on one of Katie Melua’s songs...€ After my brother, the MD, said some special words, my new mother-in-law said grace, and some short speeches by myself and my new husband, the rest of the evening was one of chatting around candlelight, music that filled the air, some dancing and the lovely three course meal, ended off by our four layer chocolate cake, served with ice cream as dessert!
Advice to Future Brides
Try and get enough beauty sleep the days before the wedding so you can look radiant, refreshed and well rested!
Be prepared for the inappropriate behavior of people when it gets to the guest list – you cannot invite everyone that think they must be invited
IF you’re planning to speech, don’t wait until the day before the wedding to prepare, nothing like THAT to have you not relax until AFTER the speeches, and then two thirds of your day has gone by†-
