Noxy and Summy’s wedding in Germiston Wedding: 28 April 2012
Our Wedding Day
The 28th of April was a very special day for us as it was the date when we had our traditional marriage/ engagement in Nigeria exactly a year ago. We pulled out all the stops to make sure our day was unique, fun and especially memorable to us.
We decided to do our photo session by the Rand Airport with different aircraft as I am an engineer and this would be a reflection of my personality. We also had the entire ceremony take place outside right by the water to signify our free-spiritedness as well to take advantage of the serenity, tranquility and beauty offered by the water as well as surrounding nature. To top it off, I made my entrance in a boat just to wow the crowd a bit.
We wanted everybody to not only have fun through the different entertainment packages ranging from classical music players; to a DJ a traditional Nigeria band, as well as professional Zulu dancers – but we also made sure there was as assortment Nigerian/ South African cuisine as well as enough drinks for everyone to enjoy.
Everybody loved it but most importantly, Summy and I had the time of our lives!
Advice for brides to be
This is your day so make it all about you and your hubby. Get advice but ultimately do what pleases you and what you are comfortable with; no matter how subtle or extreme!
Enjoy the planning process; relax, take things as they come and add your touch in every aspect to make it extra special.
Have fun on the day; at some point I thought my hubby and I were having a big party and forgot there were others around!
