Lizelle and Aryn Gschwend Wedding: 01 May 2010
Our Wedding Day
Our amazing journey included from finding the perfect venue to small detail such as shiny crystal beads for the tent, shoe baskets/hand towels for sandy feet, handmade gifts and more.
The ceremony, led by Aryn’s grandfather, was held on the beach under a tent, complimented by white beach chairs, fresh flowers alongside a handmade white wooden isle. From the beach, guests were welcomed with live music, cocktails, sushi and oysters on the roof of The Views hotel. They witnessed a spectacular sunset whilst enjoying good company.
The Sails restaurant, lit by fairy lights, hosted the reception. The tables were decorated with turquoise lace, white orchids, lilies, candles and a backdrop of the ocean. Main course was followed by a highlight of the evening – dessert. Our own sweet shop with koeksisters, fudge, nicker-balls etc.
Another highlight was the Chinese sky lanterns. Guests wrote good wishes on the lanterns, which were lit and sent up in the sky. Twenty of us ended the evening on the beach with champagne chatting, singing and even swimming.
Family and friends, who came from across the country to create this spectacular day, are our first priority and it is ultimately these people who made our day perfect!
Advice to Future Brides
You’ve spent years dreaming about it, months planning it and only ONE day to enjoy your wedding day…
No matter how hard you try, the wedding will not be exactly what you planned or dreamed about. Things will be different, things will go wrong, but in the end, that is what will make your wedding unique and perfect. Getting married to your best friend, the one that was chosen for you and sharing that with the people you love, is essentially what a wedding day is all about!
