3 Bridezilla Stories That’ll Make You Cringe

Getting married is a beautiful and wonderful occasion. Marriage rates vary all over the world, but one thing remains true no matter where you are. The weeks and months leading up to the event can be quite stressful, especially if you’re taking all the planning on yourself.

This stress can manifest itself in a variety of ways, and some women can handle the heat better than others. Everyone wants their wedding to be a perfect day, but some bridezillas really take things way too far.

If you’re in need of a good laugh, read on. We’ll share with you three crazy but true bridezilla stories that are sure to make you feel better about your own wedding planning.

bridezilla stories

1. A Group Effort

One story goes, a bride was busy preparing for her big day with a number of weekend shopping excursions.

After dragging her bridesmaids on multiple trips to find the perfect dress, she finally settled on the perfect one, with one catch. It was massively over budget, coming in at a clean $11,000.

What’s a girl to do? Ask her bridesmaids for a little help, of course. The lucky ladies were not pleased when the bride-to-be asked for direct financial contributions for her dress fund. And they certainly weren’t swayed by the pitch that the dress would become a sentimental object for all of them.

2. A Manifesto

Putting a wedding together takes a lot of organizing. There are so many different people attending from so many different backgrounds– it can be hard to get everyone on the same page.

A certain bridezilla would agree with this sentiment, and even took extreme measures to fix it. A month before this particular wedding, invitees received a typed, four-page, front-and-back letter from the bride herself. The letter detailed numerous things about the wedding plans and laid down strict expectations on how attendants were expected to look and act.

These requirements included gift purchases of a certain price point and expected dress code for events leading up to the wedding itself. It also included specific weight and hair requirements for each of the bridesmaids.

And these rulings were enforced with the utmost seriousness: the best man was ‘demoted’ just before the wedding for not pulling his weight and following the rules properly.

3. Gifts Are A Girl’s Best Friend

Getting married comes with a number of perks, such as the gifts from loved ones you can take home to your new life. One bridezilla horror story takes the love for gifts too far.

This particular bride was so excited about the wedding gifts that she began to post her registry on social media the same day as the engagement. These registry reminders were spammed weekly in the months leading up to the wedding.

The bride then lost it when not enough people brought gifts to the engagement party, even though it’s not traditionally a gift-giving event. She then proceeded to uninvite anyone who didn’t bring her a gift from the wedding.
