Our Wedding Day

Our theme and decor was influenced by Beach meets Plaas theme! My husband is an avid surfer so it was inevitable we had our wedding on the beach, I am a complete sucker for traditional ouma’s plaas kos, so our food was, poitjie kos, braai vleis and melk tart!

We wanted our wedding to be a celebration of our friendship and love for each other and we think our big day represented that just perfectly! We didn’t want anything traditional, no bouquet toss or cake cutting, we wanted our friends and family to celebrate and celebrate we did! Everything in our wedding was DIY, the process was great fun and it saved us a fortune! DIY budget is the way forward!

Advice to Future Brides

My advice to any couple getting married is to remember that the main reason your having your wedding is to get married to the 1 you love, it doesn’t matter if the flowers are the wrong shade or the napkins don’t match the bridesmaids dresses, the only thing that matters is that the 2 of you are there together and ready to start a wonderful life together! It’s natural to stress but I promise, when the day comes nothing else is more important than your love for one another! Enjoy your every minute of your day because it’s over in a flash!
